About the Author

Gina Specksgoor is from, and still lives in Rochester, NY. She has been helping feral and stray cats since she was a child. A life long dream of Gina's is to become a writer where the proceeds from her books are used to build a "No Kill" sanctuary for less fortunate animals.

In 2007, Gina founded the Shepherds for Animals Charity Organization and has been providing support to abused and neglected animals. Her dedication, loyalty, perseverance, and love has saved hundreds of animals. In addition to caring for animals she also helps the elderly and individuals who have difficulty taking care of their pets.

Gina has earned a Bachelors in Science at Ithaca College, with a dual teaching degree in Health & Physical Education K - 12. She also holds two Masters Degrees, one in Education, and one in Education Administration. Currently she is a physical education teacher working with grades K to 7.

Prior to teaching, Gina was a professional athlete in several sports. She was a member of the Ladies Professional Golfers Association Teaching Division, The Ladies Professional Bowling Tour and The National Women's Football Association.

In her spare time, Gina enjoys a active lifestyle. She loves to discover new places to go, enjoys nature and the outdoors, reading books and watching movies. Another aspiration of hers is to be a movie critic.

Most of all Gina enjoys saving and caring for animals in need, and has plans to continue saving animals through the Shepherds for Animals Charity Organization and Meowville Sanctuary.
